Paweł Zalewski – Member of the Civic Platform of the European Parliament.

Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with EU Policies in the framework of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
Member of the Subcommittee on Security and Defense Committee of the Parliamentary delegation to the EU-CARIFORUM, the Delegation for relations with Iran and the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly Euronest, Representation in the EP Foreign Affairs Committee and the Delegation for relations with Belarus.
A member of the European People’s Party ( EPP ).
Since April 1st 2011 Coordinator of International Relations in the Coordination Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine.
Placed on a 5. position in the prestigious ranking of the TOP 10 lobbyists of Ukraine in the world - 2011, drawn up by the Kiev Institute of World Policy, based on the opinions of 50. ukrainian and international experts.
Member of the Polish Parliament I,V and VI term of office, Chairman of the Sejm's Foreign Affairs Committee of the fifth term of office.
The initiator and first chairman of the Polish-Ukrainian Inter-Parliamentary Group in the Parliament and legislature.
Paweł Zalewski was recognized by the weekly “Polityka” ( Politics) as the best MP of the parliamentary season 2006/2007.
He is an expert on international affairs and respected commentator on Polish foreign policy.
Zalewski was born on September, 25, 1964 in Warsaw. He studied history and law at Warsaw University.
In the 80’s he acted in opposition, led underground publishing activities. He belonged to the Independent Student Association.
In 1989 he participated in a team of higher education at the Round Table.
In the years 1989-1991 he was an adviser to the Minister of National Education. From 1991 to 1996 he run lectures as a senior assistant in the School of Economics in Warsaw. In the years 1996-2002 and 2003-2005 he worked as a managing partner of an international HR company.
For many years he was associated to groups of conservatives. In 2002 he begun cooperating with the Law and Justice Party , in 2007 he was elected Vice-President of the Law and Justice.
Paweł Zalewski from the beginning of his political career used to work for his region. In the years 2002-2003 he served in the executive board of Mazowieckie voivodship. He started preparations for absorption of European funds in advantage of the region. He fought against nepotism and the use of Marshal position to purse his own interests.
Paweł Zalewski steering the works of the Foreign Affairs Committee has made it as a place to build an agreement around the Polish foreign policy. Since 2006 he attempted to change the way of exercising politics in order to effectively convince the Polish right. In the situation of the freezed relations with Germany, he endeavored to build Parliamentary Polish-German Dialogue, explaining our Polish point of view. He also promoted the concept of energy security while successively supporting the purchase of the Lithuanian Mazeikai refinery by Orlen corporation.
From December 2007 to May 2009, he served in the Polish Parliament as an unattached member.
From May to June 2009 he was a member of the parliamentary party Civic Platform.
On June 7th 2009 he obtained mandate to the European Parliament starting from second place on the list of Civic Platform in the district of Warsaw.
In 2007, the Italian Republic awarded him the Grand Cross of the Order of the Italian Star of Solidarity and the authorities of the French Republic awarded him the Cross of Knight of the National Order of the League of Honor
